The FireAntz (9-8-0, 18 points) trailed 2-0 entering the final minute of the first period, but Cryer, a defenseman, scored with 36 seconds to go on assists by Craig Geerlinks and Bobby Reed.

Former Antz goalie Chad Collins left the game after the period with the 2-1 lead, but his replacement, Ryan Scott, was torched for five goals on 10 second-period shots. McConnachie scored two of those, with Geerlinks, Cryer and Reed also cashing in. Geerlinks finished the night with four points.

Rob Sich finished off the Fayetteville scoring at 27 seconds of the third. His league-best 20th goal moved him back into the SPHL scoring lead, 28-27 over Mississippi's Matt Zultek.
