LAFAYETTE, La. - Lawne Snyder capped a four-goal third period for Fayetteville as the FireAntz rallied to beat Louisiana, 7-6, on Thursday night in Southern Professional Hockey League play.
Snyder's goal came with 3:24 left in the game on assists from Chris Leveille and Joey Olson. That followed a game-tying goal at 10:33 by Emery Olauson, who pushed a Brett Needham feed past IceGators goalie A.J. Bucchino.
Needham scored in the third, as did Corey Hessler. Darryl Moore then put the hosts out front, beating Guy St. Vincent with a penalty shot at 5:23, before Olauson and Snyder delivered the tying and winning goals.
Jesse Biduke had a pair of goals for the Antz (10-8-0, 20 points), and Rob Sich kicked off the scoring with his league-leading 21st goal just 3:34 into the game.
Louisiana got a pair of goals from Mike Ruberto, whom the IceGators signed Thursday along with his twin brother, Matt. Both played for the FireAntz last season.
Fayetteville wraps up a five-game road swing tonight and Saturday in Biloxi, Miss., against the Surge. Louisiana remained in the SPHL cellar with the loss, dropping to 5-13-0 (10 points).
