BILOXI, Miss. - Rob Sich recorded his second hat trick in six games, with a pair of third-period scores sparking Fayetteville to a 4-2 win over Mississippi on Friday night.

The FireAntz improved to 11-8-0, and with 20 points moved into sole possession of second place in the Southern Professional Hockey League. The Surge fell to 7-8-3 (17 points).

Mississippi raced out to a 2-0 lead, but Phil Sbrocchi's first goal of the season cut the deficit in half with 3:20 left in the opening period.

Sich scored the only goal in the second at 8:58, then added the go-ahead and game-winning goals at 11:53 and 19:04 of the third, respectively.

Through 19 games, Sich has 24 goals and 33 points. That puts him three points ahead of teammate Chris Leveille, who had two assists Friday, for the SPHL scoring lead.

Bryan Bridges recorded the win in goal, improving to 4-3-0 after blanking the Surge over the final 45:44.

The FireAntz end a five-game road swing tonight with a rematch against the Surge.
